Lyon 6
The luxury project is a renovation of a 209-square-meter apartment, located in a villa designed in 1910, on the outskirts of the Tête d'Or in Lyon. This apartment, which is part of a residence with undeniable charm, was raised in the 1960s. The apartment was almost in a raw state and required a complete overhaul of the layout to meet the needs of a blended family.
One of the remarkable features of this apartment is the presence of a central skylight. However, it was not highlighted. Part of the project involved fully renovating this skylight, replacing the window, and properly framing the interior to maximize natural light.
Inspired by Art Nouveau, the interior designers integrated arches and worked on curves, bringing a refined aesthetic touch in harmony with the bourgeois spirit of the place. Although the apartment did not have any particular charm initially, these design elements gave it a strong and elegant identity.
The created atmospheres are soft and neutral, with touches of warm wood, meeting the client's wish for a relaxing and cozy space. An art lover, the client wanted their apartment to be a showcase for their artworks, allowing their paintings to fully express themselves.
The layout was very complex due to the number of different frameworks (around 12) and attic spaces. This high-end renovation implemented very high-quality materials, ensuring impeccable finish and exemplary durability. The Mélanie project reveals how a raw space can be transformed into a truly elegant and functional haven of peace.
